Does Google need to advertise their search engine? Interesting. Bing has great commercials also, although they fail to show or tell why or how it is better than anything we’re already accustomed to using. We’ll see if Microsoft’s sliver of search engine market will increase in 2010.
Logo design and development is deceivingly difficult. I am working on a bunch of drafts for the Independence National Park Instant Navigator (catchy name huh?). I learned a couple things in school about logo design. One: Sketch at least a hundred ideas/designs. Two: Develop at least 20 of those into polished final drafts. Not quite at those numbers yet, but I’m trying. Here is the most current concoction:
Senior Project is now well under way. Teams are formed and projects are just getting off the ground. It’s an exciting time for the digm class of 2010. I’m working on what right now is called Independence National Park Instant Navigator (let me know if you think of anything more catchy). It someday may look like this:
We humans are a funny bunch. I’m experiencing a common paradox of our species at the moment. Many times, when we get what we want, we instantly want something else. I’m talking of course about my motorcycle. Let me get one thing straight before I move on though. I love my motorcycle. the Nighthawk was the best purchase I’ve ever made and I don’t regret it for a second. That being said, it is only human nature to look ahead to the next new and exciting thing.
That thing for me is the Ducati Streetfighter. I love the style of ‘naked’ and ‘urban’ bikes, and in 2009 Ducati introduced a bike that knocked my socks off. My current engine in the Nighthawk is a 750cc (cc referring to the literal size of the engine bore in cubic centimeters) and weighs about 500 pounds. the Streetfighter boasts a 1099cc engine and weighs about 370 pounds. Yes, yes, that is 300cc’s bigger, and 130 pounds lighter! Now, realistically, I really don’t think I need a bike with an engine that big, but oh man is it cool to think about it. Oh, and one small problem with the Streetfighter: it’s MSRP is just under 20 grand. Ouch.
Don’t be sad! There is a very tasty alternative, and that tasty treat t is the Triumph Street Triple. This bike has bad ass styling, a 675cc engine (plenty of power, trust me), and many of the same goodies found on the Ducati. Although the engine is coming close to half the size of the Ducati’s, the bike still makes complete sense for me. I’m not really the kind of rider that will take full advantage of 1099cc’s. 675 is really a perfect number. The Brits really know how to make a damn sweet bike. Oh, and the MSRP is just under 10 grand, which is much more reasonable than the Streetfighter. Of course the name Ducati is synonymous with sex on two wheels, but I make my own reputation, I don’t need a brand name to land respect.
So, here I am, loving my current motorcycle, but already thinking about my next one. Goodness me, what a crazy mixed up brain we all have the pleasure of living with.
And just for fun, check out the Streetfighter in action in this academy award winning video:
@PreetDiddy can you just do that for me for no reason? You and Gooddog.January 29, 2012 1:18
