Maybe the best example of Process at its finest is in great design work.  Great designs are well thought out, and many pretty good ideas must be pushed to the side in order to find the one that truly works.  It takes practice, research, time, and effort to get something that is top notch.  Oh, trial and error too.  All of it is part of the Process of obtaining the end goal; whatever it may be.

Just for fun I am posting some sketches I made in the process of designing a banner ad, and the one I ended up using.

The problem is whenever I change/redesign/update it I almost immediately want to do something different, and I am constantly defining and developing my “online voice”. A few thinks are sure to change, but I like the current rendition, and I think it’ll stay this way for awhile (why are there so many more back burners than front burners?).

Well, it was a blast and I kept it up over the past 2 years.  Now it’s time for version 4.0!  Let me know if you have any special ideas about this year’s card.  MORE IMPORTANTLY:  If you want a card and don’t live in the Philadelphia area email me your (snail mail) address at dave@daveRoy.net!!

My family’s 1994 Dodge Grand Caravan which we drove off the lot back in Wisconsin just traveled its 170,000th mile. If this car was a person it would be old enough to drive itself. The van has covered enough miles to reach around the Earth almost 7 times. This car literally helped raise a family, and it’s still standing strong. It’s newest assignment, taking me up and down I-76 six times a week, is no small task. I don’t know if it will make the 200,000 mark, but it’s earned itself a spot in the hard working vehicle hall of fame.

Does Google need to advertise their search engine? Interesting. Bing has great commercials also, although they fail to show or tell why or how it is better than anything we’re already accustomed to using. We’ll see if Microsoft’s sliver of search engine market will increase in 2010.
